HATE or LOVE
Hi! Spring is coming, can't wait eh?
Now as you know the world is in the serious crisis of COVID-19. While mamy people falling victim to the coronavirus, many people are fighting against the disease as patients, doctors, nurses, other medical workers and politicicans.
We all are so sad and having anxiety.
It is not only you.
You are not alone.
Please don't be depressed and defeated.
A few days ago, I saw a video that a guy sprayed something look like rubbing alcohol on a Asian guy. That was so shocking because this is just a hate crime.
Hate only brings hate and hate could even lead to genocide looking back to the human history.
To that incident, MTA posted such a tweet.
What works in stopping the spread of Coronavirus:
— MTA. Stay Home. Stop the Spread. (@MTA) 2020年3月5日
1. Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds
2. Cough and sneeze into your elbow
3. Stay home if you're sick
What doesn't work:
1. Racism https://t.co/wBrkkBe7yP
In this way MTA clearly shows their attitude towards racial discrimination. They don't allow racism.
Also let me share an awareness campaign that MTA launched for hate crimes on subway.
I found this when actually taking MTA last month. It was kind of impressive but fogot to take a photo so here is a picture from google.
What I felt impressed was MTA is taking a measure to combat hate crimes on trains officially and show passangers their attitude.
The U.S. is more multiracial country than Japan still proud of being a racially homogenious country; therefore racial discrimination is much more likely to happen in the U.S. But what I hope the U.S. is to show us how strong a country can be as multiracial nation, overcoming racial matters.

もうすぐ春が来ます
毎年この時期になるとワクワクするもんですが今はコロナウイルスに怯えてるのではないかと思います
今回シェアしたいのは、先日ニューヨークで起こったコロナに関する人種差別について
かなり話題になったのでもしかすると見たことある人もいるかもしれませんが、MTAと呼ばれるニューヨークの地下鉄で、ある男性がアジア系の男性に除菌スプレーのようなものを吹きかけながら暴言を吐く動画がSNSに投稿されました。
MTAはこの騒動に対して公式Twitterで
コロナウイルスの拡散防止に有効なこと：
１、最低でも20秒間手を洗うこと
２、咳や鼻をすする時は肘で覆うこと
３、体調が悪ければ家にいること
全く意味のないこと：
１、レイシズム
とツイートしました。

レイシズムとはある人種が他の人種よりも優れているという考えだけど、最近では人種差別そのものを指す場合もある気がする
公式の見解はこのような人種差別を許してはいけないということ
先月、MTAに乗ってたらある広告を見つけました。
Hate has no place in our transit system
地下鉄での差別行為を許さないという内容です。
これを見つけた時、車内での差別を許さないということを公式の見解として示していることが良いなと思ったな。写真撮りたかったけど忘れちゃったのでこの画像はGoogleで探しましたよ。
今回の件で感じたことは、アメリカの中で比較的にリベラルなニューヨークでもまだまだ人種差別はあるということ。
ここであまり書くつもりはないけど
人類の歴史を振り返れば、憎しみはヘイトクライム（憎悪犯罪）に繋がり、それは時にジェノサイド（集団虐殺）へと繋がります。つまり 憎むという感情からは憎しみしか生まれないのです。
このどうしようもない状況を誰かのせいにする為に必死にならないで欲しい
こんな時だからこそ思いやりを持って行動して欲しい
と思います。
先は見えないけど今できることを こなして行こう。離れているけれど、一緒に戦いましょう。
